Building of final appearance model for a Product Design class in which we redesigned a heat gun. Model consists of MDF, body filler, polyester resin, 3D printed ABS plastic, clear extruded acrylic and acrylic enamel paint.
Final Appearance model for a transportation design class. Started off with an 1/4" acrylic sheet cut and sanded to the shape of the vehicle's A-Line, I then glued polyurethane foam onto either sides of the acrylic and began to shape the rough details and shape of the vehicle. The form was then covered in wood glue to seal the foam before covering the entire form in 5 layers of 10 ounce fiberglass. From this point the form was sanded and shaped using polyester body filler where needed. Finally a few heavy coats of polyester filler primer were laid down, sanded and the vehicle was painted and the final details were added, such as graphics, window and door seems, lathed and polished aluminum exhaust pieces and steel mesh grills.
The tires were made by casting Easy-Flo into a circular container, lathing it and then molding it and casting 4 more.
